Rear Window Tint Film

Has anyone applied window tinting film to their rear window which has a defroster grid? My biggest concern is since the defroster grid is applied to the interior of the rear window and it has a slight thickness to it, does the tinting film look good with the tiny space between the glass and the top and bottom of the grid?

I have tint on the rear of my Targa - don't notice the defroster grid at all.

edit: Installed 10 years ago and no problems to date. They installed the tint in one piece.

My 73.5T, from New Mexico, had tint already installed by the PO and it was done very well and with a good quality tint. On the rear windshield, the tint was installed in strips, applied between each heater line--must have taken a good deal of time but the result is an almost invisible transition between the heater elements and the tint. After many years in the hot sun, no shrinkage and, since the tint is not one continuous sheet, no bubbles where the tint would lay over the heating elements.

I have tint on my coupe rear window and it looks fine. The electric lines are there, but the installer just laid it over in one piece.

11 years on a coupe with no problems...over the grid...no bubbles. Every car I own has them over the defroster lines and I don't have any problems. Find a good shop that uses quality tint.
