Are you putting the 265s on a 9" wheel?

...and pics on the car, please. I'll be curious to hear about clearance issues too.

I have the same size Kumhos and while they are only 45's, being 265mm wide they still have hefty sidewalls...

As a test, I'd tried a set of 265/40-17 (same height as a 265/45-16) on my 911. Wasn't even close, too tall and hit the fenders. If I'd driven on them I'd have burned the paint on the fender flare about 2" above the fender lip.

correct 245/45-16 is about 24.8" tall
the 265/45-16 is about 25.4" tall

Taller and wider is a bad combination

I assume your car is a widebody?

I was ready to pull the trigger on this size as well for my 10x16's but I was concerned about the overall diam. (25.4") specially with euro height. I'm running 245/45 now and it's fine but wanted a wider footprint.

I'll wait for the update from the OP.......

I have 275/40-17s on the rear of an SC flared car and they fit fine on 9x17 wheels...

I have a set of these on my Carrera 3 (215/50x16 and 225/50 x16).

So far I have found them to be excellent for both wet and dry grip. Probably not up to "R" compound levels of grip in the dry, but they do give a very nice, gradual transition from grip to slip. The only thing on the negative side is that the transition to slip does feel just slightly 'numb' to a degree.

Given their price and performance, I don't think you can go wrong.

Before I go to 17's I would like to give these a try. It seems like they should fit, but I'm a little worried about the height.

I'm talking the 265/45 on 9's. Or I'm looking at streching 225's on 9's, not sure if thats a good idea.

I ended up going with Mich Pilot Sport Cup race tires.

Remember the stock tire height on a 911 is closer to 25".

245's are a little shorter. 265's are a little taller.

You can easily put 245's on a car set up for stock 225/16's but stepping up to 265's will probably require some adjustment to ride height, camber, and rolling fenders.

I suspect it is going to be a closer fit trying to get 225's on the front than the 265's on stock Fuchs 9's in the rear.

One board member ran the Kumno V710 265's which are wider still on 10" rims with the proper set up.

Also, a lot of the PCA club racers run 245/275's with proper set up on stock bodied 3.2's and SC's.

It is getting hard to find tires for a 9x16 Fuchs. Toyo makes a solid selection of 245's for them and they are great tires. They should even have the RA1's back soon if not already out.

Also, the Dunlop Z1 225 is supposed to be rated for a 9" rim.

Kumho xs

i am installing a new set of these tires on my early widebody conversion. 315/30/18s and 235/40/18s . on 3.6 rh rims. looks great...waiting for an early turbo set of spacers for proper fitment. diameter seems right on the money. price is way right for these tires, not great in the rain. (dont see much of it in socal) . update when theyre on the road. kevin

IROC what are the offsets on your rear wheels?

That's what I have on my 8's and 10's. I love them. Very sticky.
