Cool Compression test question

Hi,

Just bought a 91 911 Cab with 53k miles. I would like to do a compression check to see where its at. My old compression checker probably won't work. Where might I buy one and whats the procedure. I guess take a set of plugs out, disconnect both ign systems.....now do I need to open the throttle full as it cranks ?

Also how does one do a leakdown check. I am familure with doing it on aircraft engines but how and with what gauges doone doit on a Porsche ?

As always many thanks to a new owner for all the help...

Tom
