Weird Wiring Question 1 - 1970 911 E

Hi,

I noticed an extra non original wire which goes from the positive side of the starter and is spliced to a wire on the CD Unit. That wire on the CD Unit would normally connect to the #2 terminal on rear fuse panel.

Any ideas on this one.

Thanks,
nick

the CD doesn't get power until the key is on, so batt power at all times wouldn't make sense. i could see power jumped from the solenoid exciter terminal (50), so when you work the starter, there would be no, or less voltage drop when cranking. maybe someone tried to improve starting at one time.
