911 Engine/Transmission Jack Adapter Problem
I have one of these cool 911 Engine/Transmission Jack Adapters that Pelican Part sells. It seems like it's very well made and I'm looking forward to using it. To use it, one has to remove the jack pad from the floor jack and substitute it with this. The problem is that it only fits on floor jacks with a 1 3/16 hole where the jack pad is installed. I have a large aluminum floor jack, but the hole for the jack pad is more like 1 inch in diameter. So, this means I can't use this tool without buying another floor jack.

I had the same problem. My 3 ton Sears jack (probably 20 years old and one of the old heavy duty ones) didn't work because the saddle stud hole was just 1-1/8". And my low clearance jack would never get high enough. So I bought a beefy jack just for dropping engines with the jack adapter.
- Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices Very sturdy and stable. Before dropping the engine the first time I used the jack to lift my 5500 lb BMW X5 V8 to change brake pads. Worked just fine. Not sure where in the DC area you are, but there are several retail stores in MD and VA.
