Porsche Crest Slant Nose Lights Wirring (Mazda version)

Dear Pelicans

The driver side stop going up and down. The lights works.

Before plugging it in the passenger side, is there any bench test I can do.

The is a four wire plug (Green, Brown, Orange & Orange). I guess two are for the 12 V & grounds, what are the other 2 for?

From previous thread, the relay would be usual suspect.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

J.J.

hi, i also had a thread on this. i found broken pins in the square connector, not allowing the motor to see the voltage it needed. i made a new connector. the lights work perfect now, even in the rain.

Porsche Crest It could be the case...

Hi Michael

I remember when you got the car. I though that you luck out fixing it pretty fast.

Actually, I had a hard time to get continuity between one of the connector wire (female one) and the ground on the linkage where two wires terminate (one from the plug and one from the relay).

Oddly, it's a 4 wires plug and it start with 4 wires but I got 5 at the other end of the electrical sleeve. Also they are different colors so it's been splice for sure.

After going to the State to pick up a Pelican order next Friday, I'm going to see her and will remove the passenger side one and redo the plugs.

Cheers

J.J.

hi JJ, one of mine was spliced also. i left all that stuff alone, as i had good continuity with a multimeter on either side of the connector. i made the new connector from anew trailer towing harness sold at the parts store. the wires are the same color, and the same gauge. i used a small amount of dielectric grease on the connection, and it works fine. i will see if i have any pics that i can post to help you. i take pics of everything with my cars out of habit.

well i looked, and i dont have any wire specific pics, as i got mine working pretty fast. i will see if i can stick my camera in there tomorrow and take a pic of how i fixed mine.

very busy Monday for me, sorry for the delay. this is the best pic i can get without getting creative and lifting the car up. my original wires were the exact same color and gauge. i spliced them in with quality crimp connectors, and connected the car harness to the headlight motor harness with the connector you see. i think the harness is around $5.00 at the parts store. lights work great now.

I'll let you know when it's fix.
