Does anyone know where I can buy the following two tools?

1. A good quality fuel pressure gauge that connects to an '89 Carrera fuel rail test port (needs to be 100 psi gauge)

2. A "pin out" test connector, per the Bently manual, for testing sensors at the DME

I remember reading about this a while back and found the link. It may be NLA. They're also known as breakout boxes or test-tee's - we call them test tee's in work because the schematic looks like a T, and the breakout boxes, or BOB is more of a dead end for the signal. The T allows you to monitor the signal in question while it is in the circuit.

They are very expensive $800-1600, but can be made if you can get a M and F 35 pin connector and a budd or plastic box (newark).

If you do it yourself, I don't know if buffering the signal in the tip or banana (pomona) jack path is a good idea.

Let me first say that I buy thousands of dollars of parts from PP. Okay, that said don't buy the fuel gauge from PP. I did, the first time I saw it I was disappointed with the quality. The first time I used it the valve for the flow broke off in my hand. The gauge itself is not good quality. Keep in mind it's not that expensive but I would spend more to get a better set if I had a chance to do it again.

Same here, I've been disappointed with the CIS tester Pelican sells.
There's a hook welded on the backside of the gauge. The welds were poor quality, they broke and the gauge fell from the decklid where it was hanging. Gauge is now broken :-(

That was the 2nd time I used it. It was still like new, I bought it a few months ago.
I'll have to source a new gauge. No big deal, but one can buy a CIS tester for half the price of the one Pelican sells.
I thought this one would be of better quality, and worth the difference.
I now wish I had bought a cheaper one.

Thanks for the help here. I'll keep looking for a fuel pressure tester of better quality. I don't think I need the CIS one. I only need one with a single output line since I connect to a common fuel rail and not individual injectors. Should be able to find a good one somewhere else.

Based on the input concerning the DME "breakout box" I think I'll pass on it. Don't need it bad enough to pay over $1000. It was a "nice to have" thing.
