I recently received a Pelican gift cert and was thinking of spending it on a car cover. I live in southern California where it doesn't rain all that often. When it does though, it can rain for a week or two on end. Looking at the choices, the Silverguard cover received 4 out of 5 stars in the "Water Resistance" category. I figure this should be more than adequate. Does anyone have any experience with these covers? The 5 star water resistant covers are another $200. I'm thinking $350 might be overkill... but then again, I am buying this for my Targa.

Yes I have owned 2 and will not buy them again. Water is not your enemy, it is the thinnest of the material, which quickly wears through at the stress points where the car rubs against the cover, like spoiler edges. The material also wears through very quickly if you park outside a lot. For me, within 2 years the covers become ripped and useless. I replaced my BMW silverguard cover with a factory BMW one, and the Porsche 911SC now has a Evolution 4 fabric cover. The Evo 4 is a bit thick and take up all the space in the trunk, but other than that, it is what I would only buy now.
Good luck.
