--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a transmission that has the case part numbers 930 301 101, 102, and 103

I can't find any other ledgible identifying numbers at all. There is a 10 75 under the case number on the main housing. I wonder if it's a really early 930 trans.

Anyone know what this is?
I asked on the 930 side, got no help there.

Appreciate any help I can get!
Drew

Drew,

Post some images. That will tell the general transmission Type.

Those are casting numbers and date code cast into the side of the castings.

The important numbers are (were) on the support for the clutch cable. There should be numbers like 777xxxx and 930/33. Perhaps a ‘12’ in between.

After making a nice and well protected boss for these important numbers in late ’71 type 911 transmissions, Porsche AG chose to put the numbers in the most vulnerable place possible.

Shame on those who made that decision.

There are some ‘crime scene’ techniques that can raise the numbers scraped off.

Best
Grady
