Not running very well after three days of rain....

Lots of rain here in Nor Cal, sun came out yesterday so I uncovered the car and started it up. It fired right up but running rough. Feels like its not running on all cylinders. I'm thinking something got wet but not sure what. I checked all wires, looked under dizzy cap, checked inside airbox everything was dry. Before this happened the car was running very well no issues what so ever. If water did get in does anyone know where else I should look?

Regards

Take a cursory look at the ignition system, but if it is not too rough, try driving and see if it improves. Engine heat could help dry it out.

Its unlikey anything got soaked, but given the wet weather, condensation build-up can cause problems.

I'm experiencing the same thing in So Cal.
When you looked under the Dist cap did you actually wipe it dry? The reason I ask is because on mine you couldn't really see any moisture but there was some there.
When you say your car feels like its not running on all cylinders, can you smell gas in the exhaust? Is the idle low; below 800 or high, say 1200? Mine is idling at 1200 rpm.
Let's keep in touch on this. Maybe we can solve both our problems.

Thanks for the responses, this morning when I started it up it was running like I mentioned. So I let it idel for about 20 mins. there were a couple of semi loud pops from the exhaust after that the idel smoothed out and its running like before.
There must have been some moisture somewhere and evaporated from the heat

I didn't smell gas or rich mixture the idel was down to 800rpm and then up to 1200rpm when it was running crappy.

Targa Me, is yours hard starting at all when warm?

Usual suspects:

Condensation inside the distributor cap,

Older ignition wires allowing arcing (start engine in dark garage or at night, see if you see blue arcing).

Being faced with more frequent rain up here in the PNW, I sprayed the inside of my dizzy cap with a little WD40 and that seems to help my 3.2 run smoother when it is raining / damp. Give that a shot.

Moke81, no problems at all when warm. If you are experiencing hard starting when warm your starter motor soleniod may be getting hot. Somewhere, some one sells either a isolating blanket to shield it from the heat or you can buy a solenoid kit that relocate the solenoid to a spot that doesn't get so hot.
