Installing front chin spoiler; hints, insight, help

Decided to install a brand new OEM chin spoiler on my '88 Carrera. I read that it was a two mechanic talent rating in Wayne's book. I've done my clutch, installed SSI's, rewired headlight wiring from switch though fuse block to H4's, and as some of you know, I build Indycars as my job for the last 15 years and I'm a perfectionist!. So installing a rubber spoiler should sound easy, but as y'all know bodywork doesn't always go as planned. So I have some questions:

Is it easier to do it with the panel off the car? And if so, how hard is it to pull off? It looks like a b!tch to get off.

I do have two very small dents from the PO on the bottom of the panel. One of your older English fabricators said he could beat them out, but I would have to pull the panel off for him.

Is it better to line the spoiler up while the panel is on the car?

Wayne's book says to start at the fenders and work your way to the center. Does that work well?

Is it tough to get the sides to line up properly?

I'm kinda nervous, I don't want to fu@k up my valance panel. so does anyone have any extra hints?

Thank you for your time.
