cheap alternative for mounting badges?
i picked up a set of the PORSCHE letters for the engine lid but did not get any of the speednuts for them. anyone know of a cheaper alternative for holding them in place other than the speednuts available here? they are $1.25 each and i have 7 letter to attach, each with 2 or more needed.

The local parts store should have trim speed nuts in the "help" section where they sell the odd pieces of hardware like trim clips, window cranks and interior screws.

There is even cheaper flat sheet metal push nuts that are like $3.00 per 100. How much did you pay for the letters?

Any auto body supply shop or a good-sized NAPA will have an assortment of speed nuts for pennies on the dollar. (However, if you affix the P-O-R-S-C-H-E badging with anything but factory authorized fasteners, your warranty is void, you will be shunned by the PCA Nazi's and the CW's will make faces at your car, similar to someone sucking on a dog-doo flavored Lifesaver).

Sorry about the "buzzkill" when you got the letters sans clips/speednuts. I have 4 of the little metal clips (see image below) that I can mail you if you want them. However, I suspect you will find what you want at a local source. Let me know. Chris ![]()

The speed nuts that they have "here" will fit the posts properly and get the job done right.

I use the speed nuts from Napa and a small drop of silicone on the inside as I found nuts backed off in the 914 engine cover and fell into engine compartment. There are no such thing as Good Vibrations

I've used the clear 100% silicone caulk to hold the crest badge on my trunk for years now. Good stuff.

The "push-on" speed thingies as shown in the photo are pretty much permanent. They don't come off by unscrewing them and if they do, the little aluminum post will probably come off too.
Just a caution if this was not already apparent.
