Leaded race gas in a dual-plug 911?
I HAVE NOT DONE THIS. A muscle car friend of mine runs it in his super high output Buick 460 and thinks that i should try it in my car because i don't have a cat and the motor is pretty hot. I have never been clear on the whole cat thing in the first place. Someone spell it out for me.

Since you are cat-less it won't hurt your engine. However it won't help anything unless you need more octane.
You have twin plug so you should be good with pump premium up to 10.5/1. Why do you think you need race ga$?

I don't think i need it, i told him that everything i have ever read states than any octane over what is necessary is overkill. You are correct that my car runs very well off of 93 but it might be interesting to put a few gallons in there to see what happens. I put it in my motorcycle from time to time and it seems to run cleaner. Thanks for the input.

If you have an O2 sensor the lead will distroy it. If you are running fine on 93 octane, stick with it. The only advantage to higher octane than needed is a gentler burn in the cyinder and it is only useful on the track.

The increased cushion of higher octane may allow you to run with a little more spark advance. Definitely doable with twin plugs. Be careful with too much advance. You can optimize while monitoring exhaust gas/cylinder head temperature.

Unleaded fuel, except for the octane is a blessing, Your oil and plugs will last a lot longer without becoming fouled. Nor do The valve seats in all Porsches since at least the the early 70s benefit appreciably from lead.
