Question on 1999 cup car Ltd Slip
I have a 1999 Factory cup car with no engine or trans and I've been buying a few part to restore the car I have a good deal on a 997 tranny without a ltd slip my question is will a 996 ltd slip work in a 997 tranny?? Thanks for the help.

Hello Gary,
Yes it will. While the LSDs have changed internally from year to year and model to model the bodies themselves are virtually unchanged all the way back to the 964 chassis. They are all based on the G50. If there's any way I can help you sort this out or even just to assess pricing on what you're looking at please feel free to contact me direct through the shop email. The thing you've got to watch out for on the 996 Cup LSDs is that some of them were part of a production run that was subject to cracking and breaking. There is a really good cup car forum on Rennlist in the performance and competition area. A couple of pro teams post there regularly. It's a great resource as you work to restore the car.
