73T - P O R S C H E Scripts

Following the post by MikeB over on DDK, I decided to get out there today and do the engine lid PORSCHE script.

However, upon opening the script, I found it to be 36mm too wide !

So I used Mike's method of marking the letters on a piece of tape, but then moved each letter 6mm to the left, thus taking out 6X6mm = 36mm.

As you can see, it was a case of measure twice and fix once, but well pleased with the result.

Here are the individual letters cut and re-applied in their new position before peeling the backing from each and sticking down.

Next it is the side script.

The side script was applied to a wet door panel, as there was no way I was going to do it direct.

Getting the measurement and position took ages, but eventually I applied wet and then pressed on and use da hair dryer to thoroughly dry before removing the top covering.

This was a pretty tough job, and there are a couple of small air bubbles but it is OK as it stands.

I still have the RH one to do, and the bumper stripes (but I will sleep on that decision).

I just hope they stay stuck down !

Ian, Nice job all around. That looks great. Here is a look at my '73 T with the bumper stripes also applied. I had to go with red to match the interior. Cheers. Mike.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1266173469.jpg

Finished off the right hand side today and then went for a run out in the Cotswolds.

Stopped at doing the bumper stripes as I want to see how I feel about it in time.
