Best way to determine value

I would like to know the best way to determine the value on a 77' Targa with a upgraded 81' 3.0 with a lot of new parts since 05',..complete top-end,new clutch, flywheel, tires, recondition fuchs, Koni's up front, all new brake system,..Etc about 130K on rust free chassis....145K on the 3.0. Very nice Int. no dash cracks, great carpet,..very clean original glass(except windshield) But the targa top needs recoverd. Any Idea's

Thanks, Frank

Look around for the sales prices of 78/79 SC Targas with similar miles, then deduct $2-4K since it's a '77.

I think you are looking at an actual sales price of $8-11K, depending on condition.

You def. have a fairly hard ceiling on the price of a car like that. It's never going to be worth more than a 150K mile SC or Carrera Targa in similar condition, and the market is filled with those cars available in the low teens.

Those are worth nothing on resale. What is worth something on resale are: paint, tails, suspension upgrades, brakes, interior refurbish, transmission rebuild.

Garage
Put it on ebay with all the documentation, high res pictures and see what it fetches. If you are afraid of a low price, put a $20k reserve price on it. Cheap way to test the market IMHO.
