Stalling at idle
Please help me solve this new problem I've been experiencing with my CIS equipped '79. I drive somewhere, thereby getting the engine up to operating temp., and I park my car. Let's say ten minutes go by, and I start my car. It starts at without hesitation, but then it stumbles and stalls. I start it again, and this time blip the throttle while backing out of the parking space. I put it into first gear and roll away without any more idling issues for the rest of the drive. The stalling only occurs right after the warm start. Any ideas?

I's check the fuel pressure accumulator. It sounds like it's not retaining pressure.

Or the check valve in the fuel pump, same symptom...

Thank you both...now I'll consult my Bentley to find out how to troubleshoot those two components.

You might further check my website for the CIS Primer and look under Testing for fuel pressure. There is a link at my signature block below. There is a spec about how low the residual pressure should go versus time when a hot engine is shut down/.
