How free should your rears be?

I was just adjusting the park brake on my 84 widebody, I had the calipers and rotors off and tried to turn the hubs... man they were tight, I thought they would "spin" freely
The park brake was also disconnected
The car has felt sluggish for the last month so maybe this is why

Anyone with any ideas?

Dean

Do you have a limited slip differential?

Even an open diff will feel like a lot of drag with your hands turning the axles. There is a lot of inertia in the gearbox and axles and the cold gear oil is viscous and sticky.

That's what I thought.... its a normal diff
As you say there is a lot of"mechanical" parts to make the drive, it just seemed a bit stiff
thanks for the help
cheers dean
