928 headlights for driving lights

anyone ever tried to use 928 headlights as hood-mounted driving lights? Are they physically too large for the task?

I have a picture of a pair mounted on the hood of a 914. Not sure which drive it's on but I'll look.

I thought about these also but wanted them under the bumper. I have several extra sets if anyone wants to try this

...hmmm....i wonder what that would look like...928 headlamp buckets are pretty thick plastic at the base...would be cool to chop it down, and fit them flush to the hood...

I bought a set once to try this out. I can't remember why, but I did decide that it wasn't going to work, either to much work to fit them, or just to funny looking.
