911SC with 993tt rear brake rotor/cal. What are my hand brake options?

I just bought a 911sc with 993tt rear calipers and rotors (993.352.045.00). The handbrake is removed and i need to install one in order to get the car road legal.

What are my options: will the original handbrake set up for the sc fit with the 993tt rotors? Is it an option to install a separate handbrake caliper (wire operated), or do i need to change my rear brake set up?

Thanks
Rune

No, you need modified 993tt?RS 322x28mm rear rotors, the mod is to machine the stock p/b section out and pin 911 brake section in

it looks like this

They used to be available from Race Technology

Thanks Bill,

will the rear rotors from the brembo GTP kit (for the 1980 911) work (they have the same dimentions 322*28 as the 993tt rotors and are prepared for handbrake) ?

Pelican Parts.com - Brembo GTP Brake Kits

I'm not sure if the SC trailingarm etc. has been modified (parts changed) to accept the 993tt rotors in the first place (or are the 993tt rotors interchangable with the org. sc rotors except from the handbrake "kill"?)

Thanks
Rune

yes, the last time I checked the GTP rear rotor is the correct one for use on any 911('69-89) w/modified 993tt rear calipers

The calipers are modified by machining off the mounting ears and converting the caliper to radial mounts

I don't like the GTP kit because of brake bias issues, when I looked at them they were using the 993tt rear caliper, their older kits used the 993RS rear caliper which is the same as the tt but gives better bias

from left stock 993tt, 993RS modified for use on the back of a 911, 993tt/RS front

as a system these form what is called 2000hp brakes aka "Big Reds"

I spoke to Chris at Race Technology who told me that they had stopped producing the GTP rotors, but he also said that the handbrake would work witht the 993tt rotors (the pads pads would stick out of the rotor to some extent, which mean less brake surface, but the e-brake would be functional). I don't know if this is right, but i guess i'll give it a try.
