Shameless Plug: TruSpeed Motorcars Costa Mesa
After MUCH reflection, deliberation, pixilation, procrastination, and consumption of various LIBATION(s), I'm now the proud owner of my first P-Car, a 1988 911 Diamond Blue Coupe w/41K miles:
http://www.truspeedmotorcars.com/vas_inventory_detail.aspx?@page_stock_no=1619 Now the plug - working with ALL the folks at TruSpeed Motorcars has been the hands-down BEST experience I've EVER had with ANY car "dealership", new OR used; that includes Lexus and Mercedes! Low pressure, NO "sales pitch", let me drive any and EVERY car I wanted to! Since it's only 20 miles away, I must have gone there 15 times before I made up my mind - NO problem! I worked 'em pretty hard on the price, then AFTER we agreed on the price, they prepped the car for me and my VERY picky requests; again, above and beyond the call of duty! Got the A/C working right at THEIR expense (evaporator, hoses, R134 conversion, etc.) and made every "little thing" work, right down to the engine compartment light. Oh, did I mention - they GAVE me a 930S Turbo steering wheel/hub AND installed it for me! Went back a week later, and Scott McCloud pulled out my deposit check (You know, the "ratty" spare check we all carry in our wallets) and asked if it was O.K. to deposit it... Had my local wrench (former Stuttgart plant employee) PPI it - he was slackjawed with how nice it was! 4% leakdown, 155 compression across the board... Lots of guys like to rag on car dealers, and it often seems like only the BAD deals get written up on Forums - wanted to be an exception to the rule! Dealing with TruSpeed was like going back in time 40 years - Standup guys!

Congrats!
They always seem to have nice cars but unfortunately it's tough to really understand how much they bent over backwards for you without knowing what you actually paid.....

They actually bend you over forward.
Seriously, good service should be expected when you are paying those kinds of "above top of the market" prices. |

Everybody wants to get a "great $ deal" on a car - my point is that you'll certainly pay alittle more buying from a dealer, but it's nice when you get a bunch of tangible "value added" for your money! Nice to be able to go ONE place and drive a half dozen cars before you choose, too... I guess I've been treated like chattel too many times by car dealers, so when I get treated exceptionally, it makes an impression on me. You can pay too much at LOTS of car dealers and STILL get treated like crap! Last edited by TheGanzman; 10-05-2008 at 02:51 PM.. |

She is a Beauty, Glad you had a good experience, you lucked out.
BTW, you may want to change the fan belt, to get a fresh start on maintenance.

If it turns out to be great car, how much time might he have spent poring over classifieds and driving cars and getting ppis and maybe not found the car for him. That bit of a premium over what one might pay is certainly offset by the time and money he could have spent. Dealers have their place. -kevin

Wow that is a VERY VERY nice car you bought. Love the exterior color and is the interior creamish colored? Its hard to tell with the flash and the fact that it is photographed inside. Either way love the interior as well with the contrast piping on the seat. The polished Fuchs are yumm-alish!
If you are such good buddies with them..can they get me a sweetheart deal on this: http://www.truspeedmotorcars.com/vas_inventory_detail.aspx?@page_stock_no=1483 ![]() Yasin

Nice Car
Beautiful car! I love the G50 Carrera's. I have been to Truspeed many times. They have some nice cars. They used to specialize in 993 cars. Since Mike Fabian left they now carry a broader spectrum of cars.
Congratulations, Mark

If you're a happy customer, it was a good deal. It's that simple...
