Rear Brake Caliper Rebuild Question

I've rebuilt all the calipers on my car, but have one question. Is there a trick to getting the rear dust boots to "clip" to the caliper? Its got the little grippers inside the boot, but I can't get them to all grab at once. As soon as I press down on one side, the other side pops up, even with vise grips and channel locks.

Thanks

I use a circlip pliars @ 90degrees to spred the spring allowing it to slide over the rubber boot.

Just find any houshold item like a jar top that is the same size as the seal and use it to press the seal on. I use a screw on PVC collar from a sink p-trap, with the tabs cut off, perfect size to to fit in the caliper and press the seal on.

Circlip pliers are what I use also. The usual problem is that the inside wall of the groove for the boot has to be clean and vertical. Any taper to the wall allows the clip to slide right off again.

Worked like a snap...literally. Inside 90 seconds all four were snapped into place. I'd been trying off and on for a couple evenings. Thanks for the advice!
