Hello all, I'm have a 1977 911S. One of the brown Bakelite insulators cracked. When I received my much awaited PP box, the new one was different. The old style had a pointed probe where the wire meets. The new one is just flush. Will this be compatible? thanks Roger

Thanks ossiblue. The old connector had the wood/machine screw. The new connector has no screw type insert. The 90 degree wire accept innards are flush with a small hole leading to the sparkplug body. Roger

Yep, that's it. You may wish to contact Pelican for either the piece that crimps on (I think it's available--it has a male thread end that fits into the plug connector) or replace/exchange the new connector with the wood screw type.

Postscript,
The spark plug connector indeed was suppose to have metal screw type fastener. PP graciously sent a new one, while providing return label so they can inspect the defective part. Thanks ossiblue and PP for all the help. You both are why I'm here. Roger |
