911 ringtone by RaceTones

Hey everyone!

It's not really a ringtone as it's a short sound of a 911 going by at the end of the straight at Willow Springs. The tone is only 3 seconds long and I call it the notifier as it works great on any phone that can play a sound when emails or texts come in.

Pelicanites really dug the 917 ringtone I made so I figured I'd dig up something else. This will have to do until Max (Fleiger) and I head out in a couple of weeks to get a better (and longer) recording of his car. Once I get it nailed down, I'll post it on my site.

Beats the hell out those chimes/gongs/beeps that come standard on the phones. The MP3 file can be accessed here. Also, the 917 ringtone is still there as well. If you like the sounds, I've got more on my ITunes page (link on the website or just search ITunes for "RaceTones".

Enjoy!

I will be home next Friday. See you sometime on that weekend. (Maybe take a break from the Sebring race)

I have the racetone from the 911 2.0 at Willow Springs as my ringtone on my iphone. Boy that is way too many "ones" for one sentence. Anyway, mine is 28 seconds long and I find myself waiting to answer the phone as long as possible, because the sound clip just gets better and better the longer it runs.

Glad you like the tone! I'd love to have them play longer as well but the cellphione carriers cut ringtones off after 25-30 seconds in order to get the caller to voicemail.

I wrote so fast last night that I forgot to say thanks for doing this. I bought the racetone through itunes (99 cents), then turned it into a ringtone through itunes (another 99 cents). I've never wanted to spend the money for a ringtone until I found yours (I'm cheap that way). Anyway, it was the best $1.98 I've spent. Thanks again!

Wow....sorry about that! I had no idea that ITunes charged 99 cents to convert the tone. The next album I put up I'll make sure that I have the complete tone and a shorter one that you can use as a ringtone. That way you don't have to spend extra.

To make amends, shoot me a PM and I'll send you the tone from opening sequence from Le Mans when they first start the engines, through the first lap. The best part is you can burn it to a CD, stick it in your car, and drive to it. Ever wanted to race against a 917 and a 512? Now you can!

I got the 2.0 ringtone too. It took me a while to figure out how iphone ringtones work, but I got it and now I too really like hearing my phone ring. It is kind of cool because when it repeats, it just sounds like another lap completed. Thanks!
P.S. I don't think there is any way to avoid the itunes service charge.

People must hate that you never answer your phone.
