I think that the 205's should be 205/55R16's.

At least that's what we have on our '86.

You are correct, I posted this because it is getting harder to find 16" tires in our sizes..

A 205 50 is going to look funny on a 911. Way too short of a sidewall, will look tiny in the wheelwell.

Why do people always say 16 inch tires are "hard to find" in stock sizes for our 911s?

There are a gazillion different brands available, more choices and easier to find than any time in history. These are still very commonly used tire sizes today. Used on very late model BMWs, Hondas, and just about every manufacturer.
