Hard time starting when warm/hot

Hi all - once again I look to your wisdom on an problem. My 69T with webers is always having a hard time starting when the engine is warm or hot. Cold start is a few pumps and it fires up but after driving for a few minutes and turning the engine off I always have a harder time starting it back up. Takes about three tries of pedal to the metal to finally start. Could it be bad plugs? Maybe contaminated - it's been about 1K since new sparks, cables, cap, rotors, bosch distributor were put in. Cheers in advance!

I had hot starting problems and was told that heat from the manifolds migrates up to the carbs and causes fuel in the float bowls to boil and percolate the fuel out through the secondary venturi. This then siphons all of the fuel out of the float chamber into the throttle bore and intake port causing hot starting problems and possibly fire. PMO sells insulators to prevent the heat from migrating and a drilling jig to create extra vents in the float bown circumvent the problem.

Thanks for the info. I'll call Richard at PMO to inquire. Any other ideas? Anyone?

I think Quickstep' advice is right on. You'll have to FAX or maybe email Richard. He doesn't answer the telephone, at least last time I checked. I think PMO also has a website where you can check on the price. Last time I checked several years ago, they were around $45.

+1 on the insulators. It's often 100+ degrees where I live and starting my engine hot with webers has never been a problem. no carb mods.
