Height Range For Spring Plate Eccentric Bolt
I have been searching and found some great stuff on raising and lowing the rear of the 911. I also have 101 projects by Wayne.
I however have been unable to find out what the high-low range of the eccentric bolt is. What is the scale of adjustment in inches or millimeters ? I obviously would like to avoid re indexing the torsion bars. I would like to raise 20 MM if I can with the bolt.

I believe the adjustment bolt was set by the factory so that you can raise the car approx a
1/2 inch or so. If you need to lower you have to reindex, although in your case you're lucky and you should be good to go with the eccentric adjuster ... Cheers ! Phil

1/2 inch is about 6.5 mm so I dont thing your going to get 20 mm of lift without re indexing the torsion bars.

Full range is about 38mm.
Your ability to raise 20mm depends on the present position of the adjusters, which you can approximate by looking at the position of the small/large plates of the spring plate. Be sure to corner balance when you do this.

So Chuck, if both plates are even is that roughly centered and if the outer small plate (or the plate attached to the chassis) is above the inner plate, that is raised, and opposite would be true?

Adjustable spring plate range...........
Quote:
A typical OEM adjustable spring plates would have a range of about 1/2" adjustment up or down with the adjustment bolts set in neutral (center). The only way you could find out if you are out of range is to actually set the setting to max and measure. You might get lucky if the current setting of the adjusting bolts are at the low position. Mark the current position of the spring plates and set to maximum HIGH adjustment. End of spring plate going towards the ground to raise the ride height and take measurements. I doubt it will be enough to raise the car 20 mm. Try and see before re-indexing the TB's. Tony |

Thanks Chuck, engine rebuilds are easy, it's all that geometry and angle stuff of the suspension that get me in trouble.
