Will 964 dash fit an 86 Carrera

Looking at a replacement dash. Will one from a 964 work for an 86 Carrera?

no,
911 from '87 up and 964 and 993 are interchangeable though

Thanks...do you know what the difference is between '86 and '87? '86 has the big center vent, and looks identical to '87. Does it attach differently?

Hi I thought it is 85 down wont fit and 86 and up will fit .Thats what I. have been told. Karl

That's not correct. Dashes from '86 to '98 are the same, with some minor changes to the end caps and the upper defroster cover on the 964/993's.

A 964 dash will fit an '86 Carrera, as its essentially the same piece.

I guess Ill need to go back a double check, they changed the dash in either 86 or 87 for sure

I've been scrounging parts for my 993 and was pretty sure that I needed '87 up but it could easily be '86 up

Hi yes the dash will work, the problem is the ac vent is different and the defrost vent is different, the defrost doest line up perfect but works as well as a 911 does not worth a crap, it seem the ac vent takes a little work my total instal was 2 hours, i did use self taping screws on the defrost, so make sure you get all the vents or you will have to source the, Kevin
