Seats Swapped Out...Before & After

...or "How to Spend a Sunday Morning, Upgrading to Sport Seats."
Thanks for the sale, Mark.....though I must admit, I cussed a few times during the installation....

The old (not bad seats, really):

The mother load under the passenger seat!

Ready for installation; my Wife still believes one of these is an ejection seat...

12 volts and ground in first photo, the wiring harness built by Mark (onemark) in the second picture. The red wire is hot. Per the manual, battery ground should be disconnected first when working with power seats. Trust me, I know they mean it....

The new!

Awesome fit for me, couldn't be happier. Only a couple of bruises, no blood letting!

Looks good. Now all you have to do is mount the old ones to some wheeled bases and you have yourself some cool office chairs...

I don't want to sound stupid here but I have not heard of "sport seats". Looking at the photos of your old and new, I do not see what the difference is. The new ones do look newer but I am wondering what the differences are between the two. Also wondering because I do not know which ones I have. I am pretty uninformed about Porsche seat differences.

You don't say.....

let me guide you on your first steps into the realm of Porsche factory seats.

The (fairly obvious) difference are the bolstering sides.
The second set has much more pronounced sides for extra support.
The first set are standard comfort seats, the second set is the seat that was found in the Turbo, or as an option in the NA cars.

Nesslar, nice seats man!!! looking good!

Nice choice for sure. The Porsche sport seats are some really great seats IMO. I have a set of RS America cloth seats in my '87 and they are the cats meow! Seriously heavy at ~45 lbs each, but man are they supportive and comfy.

Yes - the picture posted is from the Heritagetrim.com website. They made mine from standard seats.

Hey! They look like they where MADE for your car Nice install job Lar!
I'm sure your cornering speeds will be greatly improved...I know everything FEELS faster and there is a more "connected with the car" feeling with those.

Bhoff...here is a pic of a late sport seat next to a standard 80's SC seat...you can see the difference, but you really have to feel the difference to understand. The sport seats hold you in sooo tight that the standard version feel like bench seats when you go back

Thanks, Mark, and you are soooo right, of course; these seats are IT (for me). I don't sit tall in the saddle, but now I'm right where I need to be in the 911. I am speechless, but I can still "type", lol.....
