O2 sensor wire - where?

I have a 3-wire original Bosch O2 sensor. Where does the wiring go once it disappears into the engine compartment? There are so many things in the way that I can barely see the entry point (below the fuel accumulator or pump) but can't follow it. I may have to change my sensor and would like to find where the wires end up. (I want to probe the voltage at a convenient point too.) I really don't want to splice into the old wires if I don't have to. Thanks '87 930

Your big intercooler is in the way. On my 89 coupe, it passes through the engine grommet and then plugs into a connector. Very simple. At least on a nonturbo 911.

If it is like an SC, ultimately the signal goes through the relay/fuse/CDI panel and the 14-pin connector, forward into the body wiring harness ... and under one of the seats at the O2 relay and frequency valve controller that looks similar to a DME-unit.
