Which 911 engine is the best choice

I am considering a very in depth odd ball vehicle project and was wondering which engine set up would be the easiest to work with. I'm thinking SC 3.0 because it is a fuel injected, reliable set up. My hesitation is what does it take to make a SC 3.0 run in something other than its originally intended steed? The chassis I'm putting it in is inconsiquential (and a secret I'm hoping to have the only one around and really freak people out). I know that I want to get a donor car and use the engine trans and suspension from it for my new car. I'm not afraid to weld, fit, and form to make things fit, just want to know if it's reasonable to be able to pull everything I need - wire harness, engine electronics (what is there on the SC's?), etc. to make the engine run. Any help with SC info or another, better engine choice is appreciated. I'm trying to steer away from carbs even though that is mechanically probably the easiest choice.

Thanks!

SC is a good choice but hardly "electronic" it's closer to carbs. My choice would be a 3.2 with the motronic control. A sc engine transplanted is/would be kind of balky and hard to tune. The 3.2 with the brain box is a complete package just needing power to run (if you have the wiring harness). Engine size is the same. Sounds like a cool project.

I too vote for a 3.2. I'd consider it more reliable if for no other reason than it is Motronic vs CIS.

I was just worried that there would be "too much" that would need to be carried over to the new car. I love my 3.2 I have now and am familiar with it - in the 911. Would I need just the motronic unit and the harness from it to the engine, or is there more that is necessary? Easy to tune is KEY in this as accessibility will be very limited - think 914/6 but less room! I'm building my parts list right now, and the plan is to get a wrecked donor car, so I will have everything I need to make the swap. Kinda sad, paying more for the wreck than the running car the parts are going to be put into.
