Heating problems

OK,when I pull my heating levers up I get heat, but my fan control switch does not select from 0,1,2,3 anymore it just stays on one speed and I don't even no what speed it's on. Could it be the switch?

Does the engine blower fan (in engine compartment) come on when you pull up the heater levers? Are you sure the footwell blowers are running? If they are running are they loud, possibly indicating the high speed (position 3). Is it possible the heat you are getting is just from the engine cooling fan pushing air through the heat exchangers? These answers may help us islolate your problem...maybe

1)yes the fan in the engine compartment does come on when I pull up the levers
2)where are the foot well blowers?
3) the heat that is coming out is very good, not to loud, I mean it sounds like a fan.

The footwell blowers are behind the right and left footwell panels. If you get your head down near them you can clearly hear them running. Do the footwell blowers go off if you put the rotary switch on position 3? Make sure the fresh air fan is off (dash controls) so you don't confuse the sound.

If the footwell blowers go off on position 3 check the round relay on the front trunk relay panel (position 1, closest to the windshield). Switch the relay with another relay to check. Also check fuse #2 (counting from the rear of the front trunk fuse panel).

If the footwell blowers stay at the same speed on position 3 it might be the rotary switch, but it could be the above round relay with the contacts fused "on". The footwell blowers would be running at the high speed in this case. Switch the relay as described above to check.

O.K, if I select the switch, there is no change, so I am assuming that it is the switch that is failed.

I edited my post above after I thought about it. It might still be the round relay. Switch the relay and see what happens.
