Will a Nippon Denso A/C compressor fit an early engine?
Is there any commonality in mounting points from the 3.2 engine case to an early mag case like a 2.0, 2.2, or 2.4 for example. Wondering if the later model Nippon A/C compressor and brackets from a 3.2 Carrera is adaptable to an earlier 69-73car. Will the ND compressor bolt up to the early brackets? I know "anything" can be done; just wondering how much fabbing we're talking about here.

While I don't know the specific answer to your question because it's and early year and I've a '76 I can tell you this worked for me. If you've a stock a/c mounting bracket that's flat, all you need to do is set your compressor on the plate, then cut OD pipe that fits your compressor bolts, mount the bolts on the compressor. Then attached the belt and line it up so it's in line, find a way to keep it in line and tack weld the pipe to the plate. Take the plate out (with compressor off) and finish welding it up. Apply paint and enjoy.
