Question targa vent window adjustment

Now that I had an opportunity to drive with the targa top on for a while I figured out a major source of windnoise. The left vent window has about a 1/8" gap from about 3/4's of the way on up. I can see daylight between the seal and window frame the last 2 inches or so.
Is there an adjustment to make the window inward?

Thanks, jt

Thanks KC. I did see that pdf in the past but missed the vent window adj. part. They suggest adding 2-3 washers at pt3 if there is no more adjustment on the bracket, if I understand that correctly?

Guess I just have to tear into the door to find out how the adj works.

BTW, both of those frigging regulator spring holder bolts broke so I gotta pull the regulators too to fix - sheesh.

JTL, did you figure out how to adjust the vent window on the targa? I have a similar situation.

jt,

Once you remove the door panel, you will see the allen bolts that must be loosened up to adjust the vent window height.

The adjustments should be made in small increments.

Adjust, close the door, re-adjust ect...

Also, while you are in there, if you need to adjust the other window, here's a trick I learned.

When closing the door, the window should be even/just barely touching the bottom of the Targa top seal.

1. Close the door and place a piece of tape even with the bottom of the Targa seal.

2. Open the window and verify that the gap between the top of the tape, and the top of the glass is even.

3. Using your Bentley, (Page 640-1) adjust the window height and parallelism to the Targa top seal.

Good luck,

Gerry

I never did solve the issue. My top has the non-adjustable hook-type latches. The left leading edge of the top is a little bit higher that the windscreen frame, which no doubt causes some wind noise. Also there is a gap between the vent window and top side seal. My front and rear targa seals are original. Side seals have been replaced. See pic below:

I want to send the top to CDan but can't justify it at present.

The vent window angle is adustable as per the Bentley.
That would be the first step.

If the vent window is too high in the front, that may be the reason for the driver's side T-top riding too high.

I would try adjustments prior to refurbishing your T-top.

Good Luck,

Gerry

Does anyone have the PDF that was posted earlier in the thread. The link has gone dead since '06.

Thanks.
