1977 911 transmission with a 3.2 engine
Apologies if this a stupid question : Is there any reason not to mate a 3.2 engine to the original transmission in the 1977 911S ? The transmission has been re built.

Just make sure you have the 915 flywheel and not the G50 (87-89). Otherwise, just cut the notch for the flywheel and reference sensor to read in the top of the bell housing.

how low will 1st be? the 1975 tranny has an R&P that works well with the torque of a 3.2L - IIRC, the '77 does too
good time to put a stornger side cover on also |

Just notch it and run it...It will require a 915 clutch and flywheel as mentioned and ring gear

'77 used 915/60 or /61trans w/ 8:31, gearing will be fine for a 3.2, it will be somewhat more sporting than any of the '84-89 transmissions, but not crazy.
