Question Targa Top Roll

I am looking for some advice on how to fix a roll in the back lip of my 88, 911 targa top. The top is in great shape and does not leak but cosmetically looks bad from the back of the car. If anybody has any suggestion please let me know. I am located in the Chicago area if you know of any good shops that could look at it.

Thanks,

Mark,
That looks to me like the frame is not properly locked into position with the locating clips firmly seated. Make sure the clips are properly seated to the frame and the frame is properly "locked" into position. If that doesn't do it, contact Dan Petchel (carsinc), he's the guru of targa tops and should be able to point you in the right direction. Good luck.

Mike...

Thanks for the advice. I checked to make sure the back is locked in correctly and it appears to be tight. I just emailed Dan with some more pics to see if he recognizes the issue. It seems the vinyl has pulled to tight in the middle and raised up creating a lip off of the track. I will attach another picture of the problem. Thanks,

Mine did that same thing, had that hump in the same spot. And the rear driver's side part of the frame would constantly pop out of its clip inside the car. I finally took the whole top off and brought it inside the house to have a better look at it, and discovered the frame was actually broken, cracked right through near one of the corners. So no matter what I did, it wouldn't hold square, thus leading to it popping out of the clip. I am still dealing with it to this day. Hope that's not your problem.
