How Many Pelicans Does It Take To Change A Light Bulb?
1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed
14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently 7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs 1 to suggest we move it to the Lighting section 2 to argue then move it to the Electricals section 7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs 5 to flame the spell checkers 3 to correct spelling/grammar flames 6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid 2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp" 15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct 19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum 11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum 36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty 7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs 4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's 3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group 13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too" 5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy 4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?" 13 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs" 1 conspiracy theorist to proclaim that light bulbs are really a Enviro-wacko tactic. 1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again. |
That is priceless .
May I please copy and post on all the other forums I am on ? (you can add that to the list) |
+1 - 19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum
(If I only had a dollar for every time this has been posted here (and on every other forum I belong to)...) |
1 guy to come on the forum and ask if anyone would recommend Light Bulb Meister to change it for him...
|
"1 guy to come on the forum and ask if anyone would recommend Light Bulb Meister to change it for him..." and start the whole thread again. See: 1 forum lurker (above).

bravo <polite golf clap>
you've got me thinking of more examples, but I ain't touchin' this |
Life's most humerous accounts are more truth than fiction. This on is spot on - couldn't find one real exageration! Sad part is... I wouldn't change any of it!
You have got to love an empassioned and opinionated community like this - kind of reminds of what a family is all about! |
1 to suggest next time using the Search function rather than wasting bandwidth.
2 to make rude and insulting comments about morons who should be able to change something as simple as a light bulb. 1 to mispost on this thread rather than on the one they really wanted 1 to make a totally inappropriate political statement 1 to sit their in awe at what a great communitiy we have of helpful people 2 try to hijack the thread to talk about HIDs 1 to brag about their collection of bulbs which no one else can match 3 that never read the entire thread, who would have seen it was answered by the third post, but decided to be the heroes and post the definitive answer (again). 4 that feel that answering the question with the word "period" at the end of the sentence, should be the last word, period. 1 with the actual answer 1 humorless person to suggest that this be moved to the Off Topic Forum. |
Uhhh, could we have this thread moved to the Off Topic Forum?

And 10 to waste server space and artificially bump their post count by simply posting "subscribed".

Light Emitting Diodes are far superior to lightbulbs. The semiconductors produce light much more efficiently for the power input compared to incandescent wires. Depending on the band gap, one can get much better illumination if light, not heat is desired. :D;)

Any pictures? I know at least 16 of us would like to see some pictures.
|
The term light bulb is actually incorrect. Bulbs you plant underground and they grow into beautiful flowers in the spring.
The correct term is "lamp". :) |
