49 state cars vs California cars
Back in the late 80's (talking 3.2 cars here), were there any differences between a 911 sold in California vs a car sold in the other 49 states? I'm thinking emissions equipment.
I know it happened for one year on SC's, just wonder if anyone knew anything about the later 3.2 cars. |

Here's a good thread on the differences. One wire connection for lower emissions, slower throttle response, etc. I actually have a california car, and looked this up a long time ago. Good reminder to actually go and unplug the damn wire.
What is a "California Car"?

cool thanks. Good link.
For anyone that is interested, the crux of it is that if the car has C03 code under the deck lid it would have been a 200bhp motor instead of 207bhp. Also that disconnecting one brown wire will put it back to 207bhp. (This all applies to 84-89 American cars, JDM cars and some RoW cars that had Cat and O2) |
