need some help on engine lid grill 3 bar or 5 1969 912

Hey guys "I did some research on here and apparently not my strong point didn't find my answers"

just bought a 69 912 as a fun little driver and it needs some cosmetics, the engine grill thats on it is a three bar grill and in need of replacement.The question i have is this supposed to be a 5 bar or 3 bar grill?

anyways thanks in advance as im sure i will get some schooling and looking forward to it.

pics of nice originals would be sweet.

69 912's had the 3 bar grille, if you mean the supports underneath that run perpendicular to the grille bars themselves. The 69 also had a one year rear deck for the attachments of that grille as later decks had more "lobes" for the grilles.

yes ossiblue the supports under the grill, so you have answered my question on which one to track down. after looking at pics of so many and seeing them some with 3 bar and others with 5 i was kinda on the fence on which one to track down.
