993 outer door handle mod in-process. One question...

I am updating my broken outer door handles to functional 993 handles - it's like 2 upgrades at once! Ran across this thread:

One of the posters mentions that the 993 release plunger is adjustable. Anyone know how the adjustment is accomplished? I do not want to disassemble the handles until I pull them off for paint unless absolutely necessary.
