RS Steering wheel

anyone have this 3 spoke wheel in their car?
or have pics?
I saw one on a UK website but it is a tiny picture....
Just wondering how it looks...with 930S becoming SO popular
I may have to opt for something different.

MJ

a little...blurry...but thanks...
I am torn between the 930S and the RS...
both are great...but the RS may look too new in my car...82SC...the 930S would fit in better...hmmm
dilema dilema dilema

How is the car running?
have you dyno'ed it? I am curious what kind of power you are putting down...

You are both writing about a steering wheel from a '73 RS? Shhhh.
I'll clue you to a insider Porsche "secret"...the '73 RS steering wheel and the steering wheel from a 914-6? Identical! Diameter, thickness of grip, shape, etc....Identical! The 911 was larger in diameter.

Cool

I use an old Fittapildi[sic] wheel with small crest and serial no. on spoke. Looks like basic cave man action, not glamorous.

Fittipaldi looks much better, IMO. Has solid spokes and the two center spokes are angeled differently. Fittipaldi closer to 930 style without the glamour, IMO.

Momo Prototipo looks like this (I like! - have one for the '75 but not installed yet):

Couldn't find a pic of one in a 911. They were common on early race cars.

I also have this old Nardi on the '69 - very cool:

Matt, you can make an exact replica of the 914-6 GT steering wheel pictured in your post. First find either a 914-6 steering wheel (or leather wrap a foam padded 914 steering wheel) and then find an early horn button without the butterfly horn pads. You have to modify the back plate for a 911, and then you're there! It is a nice wheel, I have one in my '72S.

Wink

Don't spend $$$ until you see the Fittipaldi wheel.

saw the fittipaldi...

http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8411&highlight=fittipaldi

but I am pretty much leaning toward the RS...

plus when I get my 993 Carrera S I can pull the airbag wheel and install that instead...

This is the Fittipaldi wheel I have in my 911. I believe they were actually made/sold by the Nardi company. I bought this one quite a few years ago so I have no clue whether the wheels or the hubs are still available new today.
