I just had a 3.3 tubo motor sent to me via consolidated freight.Price was between $350-$400 plus an additional $80 for delivery to doorstep from Oklahoma.I picked up the motor at the loading dock and saved the $80 fee. Weight was approx. 574lbs

I would suggest using Watkins or ABF. I have the best luck shipping with these carriers (damaged freight) vs others. They also run a little slower and you can specify "DO NOT TOPLOAD - DO NOT BREAKDOWN". This will also minimize your risk of damage. Make sure that disclaimer is on all the paperwork and on the palletized engine. If they stack on top of the engine or repalletize it, the freight carrier might be liable for any damages. Remember, LTL (Less Than Truckload) carriers move alot of freight, most of it unrelated. And they try and fill up every square inch of space in their trailers as possible.
If you want lowest cost try American Freight or Yellow, but remember, you might experience a higher risk of damage. David '83SC Targa |
