Problem or not whith my Wevo shifter lever ????

Hi !!!

I just installed a Wevo shifter lever on my 86 ' 911 , and i've got a question for the users of this shifter :

No problem , i have all the gears working well , but the reverse gear security system locked my 5 th gear , like for the reverse gear.

When i engage the 5 th gear , i can hear the "clic" of the security system.

So it's a bit difficult to desengage this 5 th gear to 4 th gear , but possible .

Do you think there is something wrong ???

Must i re-check the Wevo shifter coupler or trying to found another position ???

Attached a pics :

Thanks for all inputs ,

Best regards mates !!!

I had a the same problem when I installed mine a couple of years ago, also in an '86. The problem is with the coupler behind the seats. You need to adjust it so that when the shifter is in neutral, the shifter is positioned a little more forward. So you need to loosen the coupler, and move it aft just slightly. This will better position the shifter in relation to the reverse lock-out, enough that it just grazes it shifting from 4th to 5th, but enough so you can get out of 5th. There is also an adjustment on the reverse lockout to make it stick out more, or less which you may need to adjust after you find the right coupler location, but it sounds like you need to adjust the fwd/aft location of the shifter through the coupler first. Hope this makes sense! Also, if you haven't already, I recommend the WEVO coupling (I think it is called PSJ or something like that), it improves the shifting even more!

Edit - I see you already have the coupler, missed it the first time.

Good luck.

Perfectly understood Avimax : i must adjust the coupler to move the shifter lever a bit forward .

Actually , no problem to shift from 4 to 5 th gear , just a" resistance" to shift from 5 to 4.

I think i'm not far from the solution .........

Thanks for your experience input Avimax !!!

When you get it just right, you will hear the click going from 4th to 5th, but you shouldn't hear a click going from 5th to 4th. When you shift down from 5th, you will feel the shifter hit and stop at the reverse lockout, but you should then be able to move it left without any problem to get to 4th. It just takes a little trial and error to set up. It probably took me about 4 or 5 tries until I got it just right.

It's exactly that !!!

I can hear the" clic" from 4 to 5 but not from 5 to 4 , just a hard point at the level of the security.
