Long Hood Track Widths

I'm looking for 'stock' fender ideas that will give me a front track width of about 1465 mm (57.7 in). Does anyone know if any factory longhoods had a track width similar to these numbers?

For reference, I believe the stock number for my car was 1353 mm (it's post chassis 305 101) or about 53.23 in.

Prefer ideas that do not include garish flares if it can be avoided but I know there are limited options here; any and all help is appreciated.

Thanks for the pics- I have the 1075 page 65-71 manual but it doesn't include the other-than-showroom factory cars I'm hoping to find. And I have yet to find a thread here on early race cars that includes measurements.

Have you tried Fere's Porsche 911 Story or Ludvigson's Excellence Was Expected?

No, I don't have either of those resources. I was hoping there was a giant brain lurking on this site that could provide an answer before I actually had to conduct research.

Here's the backstory on the track. . . front hub started out narrow in 64 with the same hubs as the 356C. Then they changed the track in 67. (You know that because of the 305001 reference) They did that by making the hub thicker. Then it changed again in 68 and stayed that way through the end of the series. Rears got a spacer in 68, just a plate of aluminum over the existing hub to widen the track, then the arms changed in 69, and again in 74, and stayed that way till the end. LWB steel and Aluminum arms have the same geometry (except for the shock boss) so whatever you see as the track for the 69 is the number to focus on.

If no one looks at their books before the weekend, I will check my copies of Fere and Ludvigson when I get back home (weekend away from school for Long Beach ALMS race).

Not even the Turbo track with meets your needs. It is 1432/1501mm front/rear.

The 1973 Carrera RS is 1372/1394mm front/rear.

Looks like you will need RSR fender flares.

This is from Fere's Porsche 911 Story, 8th edition. There is only production model data, no racing models.

I appreciate you taking the time to find that information. I might have to come up with something different since the quarter will not have flares . . . maybe something akin to the RS(?) fenders with the 'vent' near the hinge pillar so the flares won't be too large.

I always did like the way those RSR vented front fenders looked. From the front, it seemed muscular but not overly-flared, just good proportions. Then you look from behind and see "Wow! This car means business!"
