I can't get the A Arms off!?

So...
I've got everything unbolted but can't get the A arms out of the crossmember. I have removed all visible bolts (incl the ride height adj bolts).

What now?

Thanks

Take the crossmember down and coax the lower control arms out of thier respective spots with pb blaster hammer whatever.

I've used a 2+foot long pry bar with good results on many occasions, prying between the rear bushing collar bolt sleeve and the crossmember.

DTW had me stand on the A-arm, and then he just wailed on the cross member twice and the cross-popped right off the a-arm.

This was, of course, with the whole 2 a-arm and cross member assembly in the middle of the driveway.

I dropped that myself by carefully tying the struts to the sway bar drop links so that the struts wouldn't swing out and ding the fenders...

Shaun! You are the man. This worked perfectly. Off to wire brush the arms...

and for future reference - one often needs to make car parts feel unwelcome if they have settled into their current residence for a lengthy stay...

good to hear Dan. When I did a set a while ago, I wirebrushed/beadblasted a set down to bare metal and then metal prepped and sprayed on satin POR15. There were like factory-new, only tougher.

look forward to seeing your progress. you going to Hershey?

Maybe. Allegedly, roofers are coming over saturday. We need a new roof and siding, so I definitely can't take off if this is the case.

Would like to go to hershey as I'd like to find wheel arch trim, a period correct blaupunkt, sways, fogs, and a fire extinguisher setup.

We'll see. Either way, I hope to have the car back in the road soon so perhaps german car day or some other meetup.

Dan
