cool new jack
![]() Looking at a new issue of a fire trade magazine and came across this from Junkyard Dog Industries, the sidewinder. Used mostly as a lifting devise with a capacity of 7,500lb and a lift of 13.25". Nice and small, this should replace that nasty stock jack! Has several top plate options. Unknown how much it would cost but looks nice and stable.

It looks cool and well engineered.
Being rescue equipment explains the "engineering" and the over built lifting screw set-up. Nice find!

I've had a jack of the same design before. I didn't care for the lifting screw design. Very slow.

I carry a 944 type jack - it is not much lighter than the "crush yourself" Bilstein tho.
What's the wt. of that one, James? |

I use a hydraulic scissors jack from Harbor Freight. I use it with a jack pad to lift the side high enough to roll a floor jack under the drivetrain.

I carry a 944 jack as well...
Picked it up on Ebay for $10.00 dollars. There is no way i would ever consider using the stock OEM Porsche 911 jack. Have to admit, that red scissor jack looks pretty cool ![]() Cheers ! Phil
