First night drive

Hello guys. I just bought an 82 911SC about 10 days ago. I have loved 911s since childhood and always wanted one. Am 40 now and figured it was time to get one before I look like an old fart driving a sports car. I took first night drive to movie with the wife tonight and it was comical. When we got back to car there's a huge amount of condensation inside the windshield, yielding zero visibility. Wiping it just made thing more blurry. Of course there was someone waiting for our parking space on the street (which is by several busy restaurants), but the girl came over after awhile and I told her the deal and she was cool. After more wiping and feckless defrosting, I drive away with minimal visibility. I notice the headlights are aimed way, way too high (probably from my H4 install) and were totally useless. After awhile I had to stop the car to clear the inside windshield better. I had to take off my shirt and use it as a rag, which must have looked odd to passers by to see a shirtless man cleaning his windshield. I love the car but am glad it isn't my daily driver.

I don't see why you would have a problem with condensation as these cars have excellent heating systems !
It will take you a while to figure it out,but once you do you will be able to roast yourself inside the car ... lol

Have to say it took me a while to figure out all the wiper, defroster and heater settings when
i purchased my car.

Cheers !
Phil

I agree, take you time and research then do.

As far as the lights, easy fix. park car about 25 feet away and adjust the head lights to about 24" from bottom or to the center of lens. If you have a ___/___/ pattern, the senter of each lens is where the line starts to go up.

RSD!

Shumicat,

Congratulations on getting your "sports car", however I take offense at the Old Fart comment since I is one... :-) Well you just ran head long into the the worst system of the car right off the bat, the heat and ventilation controls. You can bet there members like me today that still don't know which way to slide the knobs to get air up or down, heat or ventilation... Best you read up on it, so much for German engineering...

Welcome a board... BTW, you might post your location and find another Pelican close by...
