Help me identify this vintage Porsche(?) race car

Continued research on my 'Barbour' Roadster has turned up this photo from 1968 at Riverside Raceway. From the left - the Roadster, Dick Barbour, Dieter Vongher and ???

It looks like an RS60 Spyder with fender flares. Anyone know?

I think you are right. In an old excellence there was an article about an RSK that was blue with fender flares. Do a little digging in your back issues. Alot of these cars were goofed up in the 60s and 70s. I love your Roadster.

Best,

Don

Thanks Don. I sent the photo off to Dick Barbour to see if he remembers the car. It would be interesting to track it down and pass the photo on to the current owner.

That's cool....the look of that 356 is what I am aiming for except with flares and more modern wheels....

Is that you Dieter? If so, welcome to the Pelican board, I think you'll like it here.

So, what is it?

Mark, it is a 1959 RSK Vin718018, original owner Don Wester, 2nd owner Charly Akly who put 7" american mags on it and added the fender flares. I bought it from him after I rolled the Roadster and ran it in PCA time trials. Eventually I installed a push rod engine, windshield and headlights and drove it on the street.
Dieter.

Four RSK's total? Or 4 in existanace? I'm talking center seaters. Someone said RS60. Not a center seat.

Mark,

Is this the same car in different livery? Tough to tell, but looks like the same flares on the front fenders? -- Curt

This information is just, not correct. Facts are Wester sold the RSK to Rick Muther who sold it Haig Alltounian who sold it to Charles AKly. Respectfully Haig Alltounian
