Are these wheels rare??
hello,
I have a set of 15" 7j & 8j (I think) Compomotive 2 piece rims, that look exactly like Fuchs. Has anyone seen rims like this before, if so can you tell me a bit about them. thanks in advance. ![]()

Johnny B's look like 3-piece fake fuchs. Not really desirable (sorry) even if they are rare.
Hard to tell what AFCuk's wheels are without closer photos of the backs of the wheels. If they are made from real fuchs and BBS rim halves, it might be possible to have them rebuilt with 17" BBS wheel parts.

The paddles (petals) do not look that much like Fuchs.
Different profile. Too flat and sharp edged. Also, they are probably cast unlike the forged Fuchs. Last edited by tcar; 04-27-2010 at 04:51 PM.. |

they don't look exactly like Fuchs, they have bolts all around the outside, and a Fuchs don't ......
they are more an interpretation of a Fuchs, not that bad looking but no one is going to post are these real of fake Fuchss?? I would be more interested on the build quality and strength, can you get a clear picture of a maker's mark or an ID number for those maybe that would help the guru's help you out .... |

Hello,
thanks for all info. They were made by Compomotive in England, will try and check for other marking. I know they are definately not Fuchs but fakes or look alikes, just thought they may be rare as I have never come across them before

I bought a set of Compomotive Fake Fuchs back in 1995. I assume they made a few of these but they were very expensive (mine were $550 each in 1995). I used mine for 10 years until tires became unavailable. Very nice wheels of apparently good quality. I tracked them as well.
Here is a picture, size is 15x12.
