Hi everyone!
I recently purchased the H4 upgrade for my '81SC here at Pelican - but two of the retaining screws for one of the headlights are stripped (well, the threads are ok I think, but my phillips can't fit in to the grooves on the head - the metal is really soft - so now there is a big circular hole in the screw head) - i'm wondering if any of you have any tips on getting these screws out??? Thanks,

American ingenuity. Sadly, there are jobs that a good hammer still won't perform. I'd consider needle nosed pliers or a reverse-threaded drill bit.

Superman's choice of a left-handed drill bit is my choice as well.
Lacking this, use a large-enough drill bit to drill through to remove the Phillips head. Once the headlight assembly is off, use needle-nose pliers to remove the remaining portion of the screw. Sherwood Lee http://members.rennlist.org/911pcars |
